Prevention Summit

The Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, in partnership with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Alaska’s Department of Education and Early Development, and the Division of Public Health, Section of Women’s Children and Family Health, hosted Alaska’s first Primary Prevention Summit (APPS) in 2012.  The theme was, Putting Prevention to Work: Alaskan Communities Working Together to End Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence and the goal was to bring community teams from across the state together to highlight state and local efforts to reduce and ultimately prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and other social and health-related challenges.

The Summit continues as a biennial event with the most recent event hosted in January 2023. The 2023 theme focused on building effective prevention programs through meaningful partnerships.  The next statewide summit will be hosted in SFY25.  You can find previous years’ agendas and summit evaluations below.
