How to report a crime to local law enforcement

  1. Identify yourself - name, address and telephone number.
  2. Report the type of crime.
  3. Report if the crime is "In Progress" or "Has Occurred."
  4. Vehicle description, tag number, color, dents, WRITE THIS DOWN !
  5. Suspect description WRITE THIS DOWN !
  6. Direction of vehicle or pedestrian travel (use compass direction).
  7. Stay on the line as long as you can.
  8. Call neighbor to help watch suspects and provide more information.
