A Detachment ----------------------------------------- Location: Prince of Wales Island Case Number: AK12203681 Type: Search and Rescue Text: On 4/21/2012 at approximately 1201 hours, Ketchikan dispatch received a 911 call reporting a missing person in the area of Salmon Bay Lake on the northeast corner of Prince of Wales Island. It was reported that Taquan Air had flown David Ford, 57, of Ketchikan to an area U.S. Forest Service public use cabin on Salmon Bay Lake for a solo fishing trip. When Taquan Air flew back to pick Ford up on 4/21/2012, the pilot was unable to locate him in the area. Klawock Search and Rescue was advised and sent a four member hasty team to the area. At approximately 1800 hours, the hasty team located a small skiff with Ford's gear near the mouth of the creek, which drains into the ocean. The Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad joined the search on 4/22/2012 and has been searching the area on foot and by air via Temsco helicopters. KVRS also searched the area using two canine SAR teams. On 4/22/2012, the U.S. Coast Guard sent a helicopter with a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera to search. All efforts have been unable to locate any other signs of Ford. The U.S. Forest Service is sending seven people to the area to help KVRS with searching today. Investigation revealed an unknown person(s) broke into the residence and stole approximately $100 dollars worth of property. The investigation is ongoing. Davis, age 30 from Kobuk, after learning that Davis had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a violation of his probation. Davis was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where he was remanded into custody and held on $5,000.00 bail. With the assistance of the Noorvik VPO'S several leads were developed and suspects were identified. On 3-22-12 a search warrant was served at a Noorvik residence. Floyd Mulluk, age 25, of Noorvik was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Contributing To the Delinquency of A Minor. Approximately $4,500.00 was located and recovered. A juvenile male was identified in the crime. Charges will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation. There are still suspects that have not been identified at this time. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Andrea I Benavidez, age 20, of Kodiak. Investigation revealed Benavidez's privilege to drive a vehicle was suspended. Benavidez was issued a misdemeanor citation for Driving While License Suspended. Benavidez was provided with a court date and release at the scene. Subsequent investigation revealed 25 YOA Mark Anthony Brown of Aniak assaulted a male resident and was in possession of marijuana. Additionally Brown was in violation of his probation conditions by being in a residence where alcohol was present. Brown was arrested and transported to Bethel where he was remanded without bail on charges of Assault 4-DV, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 6, Probation Violation. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: 12-33506 Type: DUI , Refusal, DWLR Text: On 04-22-12, at 0231 hours, Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team conducted a traffic stop on the Glenn Hwy. near mile 33 on a tan 2007 Ford Focus for a speeding violation. Troopers identified the driver as Ooyuan J. Nagaruk, age 28, of Anchorage. An investigation revealed Nagaruk was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol and she was placed under arrest for DUI. Nagaruk was also found to be operating the Ford with a revoked license for a prior DUI conviction. Nagaruk later refused to provide a sample of her breath to the Datamaster and was subsequently charged with refusal. Nagaruk was transported and remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was held on $3000 bail plus a court approved third party. An investigation showed that the driver, Rhonda Anderson age 49 of Wasilla, was driving the vehicle while her license was in revoked status. Anderson was given a summons to appear in court at a later date and released. Initial investigation revealed Ashley Hilton, 27, of Wasilla was operating a blue, 2006 Dodge Ram truck eastbound on Seldon Road near the intersection of Bogard Road when her vehicle crossed into the on coming lane and collided with a green, 2001 Mitsubishi sedan operated by Jacob Whipple, age 17, of Palmer who was driving westbound on Seldon Road. Hilton's vehicle subsequently entered the ditch, struck an embankment and vaulted approximately 25 yards through the air.? Hilton's truck landed in a parking lot and then collided with a coffee stand building, before coming to a stop.? Hilton and an occupant of the coffee stand, Kelly Homberg, 31, of Wasilla, were transported to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.?
