C Detachment Location: Bethel Case number: 12-28742 Type: Overdue Snow Machine Text: On 04-05-2012, the Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a report that Charlie Teganlakla, 56, of Marshall, did not arrive in Marshall after notifying family he was leaving Bethel. The Alaska State Troopers launched an aircraft and Bethel Search and Rescue provided a spotter to conduct an aerial search of the trail between Bethel and Marshall. Teganlakla was spotted walking, 20 miles outside the Village of Marshall. Teganlakla was picked up by the aircraft and provided with transportation to Marshall. Teganlakla was cold but in good health after a night on the Tundra. Investigation revealed Joekay has battled with illness for the last several years. The family was present during Joekay's final moments and the body has been released to the family. Hoagland, 21 years old, in the community of Akiak. It was discovered that Hoagland had an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court. Hoagland was arrested and transported to Bethel where he was remanded to YKCC pending arraignment. Troopers responded and investigation revealed that Ellen Yako age 52 of Sleetmute had assaulted a family member with a pool stick causing physical injury. The victim was treated at the Sleetmute Clinic for his injuries. Yako was arrested for Assault III DV and was transported and remanded into Bethel YKCC where she is being held without bail. The ticket agents had denied Merculief permission to board because of her behavior and suspected intoxication. On AST arrival Merculief continued to cause a disturbance and refused to leave the airport. Merculief was arrested lodged at the Kodiak Jail with a set bail of $750. Walter Johnson Jr., 33, of Napaskiak was arrested after an investigation revealed he unlawfully entered a Napaskiak residence during the early morning hours of 04-06-12 and attempted to sexually assault a resident of the house. Investigation revealed that between 4/3/12 and 4/4/12 an unknown subject stole prescription medications from her vehicle as it was locked and parked outside her residence located in the College Road area. Investigators were checking parcels when it was discovered there was a parcel that smelled of marijuana. The parcel was seized and a search warrant was obtained to inspect the parcel. Found during the search of the parcel was 260.6 gross grams of marijuana. The investigation is continuing by WAANT investigators. Further investigation revealed there was trace amounts of heroin in the syringe. The investigation is continuing by WAANT investigators. A parcel interdiction sort was conducted the following morning and the parcel was located. A search warrant was obtained and the parcel was opened for inspection. Found during the search of the parcel was 1380.2 grams of marijuana (3 pounds). Investigators have been unsuccessful thus far in locating the shipper or addressee. AK Bureau of Highway Patrol ------------------------------------------------- Location: Big Lake Case number: AK12202331 Type: Felony DUI, Eluding 2nd degree Text: On 4/5/12, at 2150 hours, the Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team attempted to stop a vehicle that had been the subject of a REDDI report at the intersection of Big Lake Road and Parks Highway. A short pursuit ensued and the vehicle eventually stopped on Johnsons Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Cher Jammes, 45 of Big Lake. An investigation showed that Jammes was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Jammes was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pretrial without incident. Jammes was found to have 2 prior DUI convictions making this DUI a felony.
