The first was for failure to comply with conditions of probation for felony DUI in the amount of $3,000. The second was for failure to appear on the original charge of operating without insurance in the amount of $500 plus a Court-approved third-party custodian. When Troopers attempted to contact the male he attempted to leave the area and was detained. The male was then identified as 32 y/o Samuel Charlie of North Pole by his Alaska ID. Investigation revealed Charlie was in possession of a crowbar and caused significant damage to the door of the business while attempting to burglarize the business. Charlie was placed under arrest and transported to FCC where he was remanded on his charges without bail. Investigation revealed that the driver of a grey 2004 Audi A8L, identified as Thomas Sniegowski, 34, of Fairbanks, was traveling south on Sheep Creek Road when he stopped at the stop sign at the Parks Highway. Sniegowski then pulled into the southbound lane of the Parks Hwy attempting a left turn. When Sniegowski cleared the snow berm that was on the side of the road, he saw a green 2008 Ford Focus driven by Tanya Ives, 31, of Fairbanks, approaching him in the south bound lane. Sniegowski applied the brakes and induced a skid. Ives applied the brakes but was unable to stop and collided with Sniegowski. Both parties were wearing their seat belts. Incident to the contact, four (4) 750ml bottles of alcohol were found and seized from his checked luggage. Further, two dime-sized baggies containing marijuana were seized from his person. Pilot Station is a local option community that voted to ban the sale and importation of alcohol. Witnesses on scene reported the driver had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person. Troopers identified the driver as Johnathon W. Kelsey, age 25, of Wasilla. An investigation revealed Kelsey was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. Kelsey was also found to be driving with a revoked driver's license. Kelsey was remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on a total of $750 bail. Gardner, age 45, of Wasilla at his residence on Wasilla St. in Wasilla. Troopers initially contacted Gardner while he was the passenger in a vehicle in which the driver was arrested for DUI on Crusey St. in Wasilla. Gardner is the registered owner of the 2002 Isuzu Trooper in question and requested it be left in a local parking lot so he could retrieve it in the morning. Shortly after leaving the area Troopers observed the Isuzu Trooper was gone. Troopers observed Gardner had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person when he was first contacted and again at his residence. A witness on scene reported Gardner had driven the 2002 Isuzu Trooper back to the residence. An investigation revealed Gardner was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. Gardner was also found to have a restricted license which requires him to have an IID installed in his vehicle. Gardner was remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held on $5000 bail plus a court approved third party custodian. Investigation showed that a 2005 Subaru Legacy driven by 55- year-old Palmer resident Judith Keech collided with a moose that had run out in front of the vehicle. Keech was uninjured and the moose was donated to charity. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2000. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
