Duty Assignments

Appointments will be made pending successful completion of the full selection process and applicants will be offered positions at the discretion of the Department
New recruits will be assigned to one of the detachments so they can become acquainted with the department and department policies. Each Recruit will have the opportunity to work in various fields of law enforcement and receive ample supervision and counseling while becoming an Alaska State Trooper
Commissioned Officers must be available for transfer when required by the needs of the Department
